1 P 1.23-24 The human life is like that of a flower: it blooms and is beautiful for a time, but inevitably fades a withers away. By contrast, God is eternal and will never die or fade away.

Learning to draw...

I attended a small quick workshop on how to draw a mannequin.
This is the nine head mannequin technique. It means that the length of
the whole body is measured by 9 times the size of the head.
This is a sketch after doing the basic mannequin, here it has a pose and clothes ;).

Macaroons!

Macaroons, I don't like eating sweet stuff but I sure like the colors of these. My father brought a box full of macaroons of many different colors and flavors to my house. No one seemed to like them because four days later they remained intact. Although I didn't want to eat them I really enjoyed shooting them.

TRENDS MTY

This event happened a while ago, anyways, I'll post it because I've wanted to post it ever since, just didn't have the time. This is TRENDS MTY, which is a fashion event that happens in my city. It's organized by the owner of one of the most recognized modeling agencies in Monterrey, his name is Rafael Zuñiga. This was the Spring-Summer 2010 edition. The designers that participated in this event were local designers joined by two very special international guests: Pineda Covalin and Agatha Ruiz de la Prada. This last designer brought to the runway an enchanting burst of color. She's well known for the use of bright colors and the shapes of hearts, stars and flowers.

The pictures above are some of the works of local designers.

José María Torre, the designer of the urban style brand: Ochö Store.

Two of the designs that showcased the mexican roots of the brand Pineda Covalin. Down here we can see Cristina Pineda (in the orange maxi dress) and Ricardo Covalin, head designers of the brand.

The designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada with Rafael Zuñiga to her right.
Bellow you can see some of the outfits that form part of her collection.

Getting back to this...

It's been a long time since I posted in this blog. School consumed me, but I'm glad to say (and thankful to God) that school is OVER and DONE! I will study college, however I will major in Fashion Design, so it doesn't feel like normal school. Now I'm excited to learn all about fashion, business, art, history and everything else that goes along with it. I'm really thankful to God for giving me the opportunity to study this that I love and am passionate about, and for giving me the parents I have, who support me in everything I want to do. I don't know what to expect of this new chapter I'm about to start, all I know is I will do anything only if it is His will.

Now I'm in vacations, that's the reason why I'm having this time to post. I'm hoping this is something I will be able to do from now on. I really admire all the bloggers around the world who always have something to show and share with us. I want to learn to do this, and probably keep it updated through out my college experience...
